Phoenix, Arizona - Michael Nowakowski has been a resident of
Phoenix since 1966. He was born in San Bernardino, California. He
graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Liberal
Arts in Religious Studies.
Michael previously worked with the Catholic Diocese of Phoenix
where he served as Assistant Director of the Office of Youth and
Young Adult
Ministry. Currently, he is the General Manager of Radio Campesina, a
Spanish a non-profit radio station.
Among Michael's community involvements in Phoenix are: City of
Phoenix Historical Bond Committee Co-Chair 2006; City of Phoenix
Census 2000 Committee; Phoenix Union High School
Superintendent's Advisory Board;Chairperson of the Ethnic Youth
Concerns and People of Color; Subcommittee for the National
Federation for Catholic Youth, Coordinator for the Southwest Voter
Registration/Education Project, and Chairman of the Santa Rosa
Neighborhood Council.
Throughout his life Michael has worked to make a difference and
build community. His philosophy of service to others was deeply
influenced by his parents, Ray and Maria Nowakowski, who taught
him the value of community involvement. He resides in Phoenix is
married to Delia and is a proud parent to Victor, Michael Ray, Irene,
and Carlos Raul.
