The Jesse Lee Peterson Radio Show hosted Maricopa County Sheriff on Monday, January 25, 2010
Arpaio Compared to Christ on Radio Show
By Eduardo Barraza
In one of the most bizarre comments ever about Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, a controversial radio host
compared his “sufferings” to the sufferings of Jesus Christ.

The statement was made live on Monday, January 25, by Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, president and founder of The
Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny (BOND), and host of The Jesse Lee Peterson Radio Show.

Peterson is a contentious African-American Republican who
was also a member of an organization called Choose Black
America, a group who opposes illegal immigration into the United States.

During the show, Sheriff Arpaio also announced he’s running again for sheriff in 2012, since he’s “not taking anything
for granted,” and said he’s already raising campaign money.
